Meet other local Humanist families who seek a non-religious way of understanding the world and of living meaningful, ethical and fulfilling lives without belief in the supernatural, and who want to raise their children to value and feel comfortable with such an outlook.
Meetings include children's activities, an outdoor activity (weather permitting), some organized adult discussion (with children playing supervised nearby), pot-luck food, and lots of informal chatting opportunities with like-minded families. We are developing a group lending library of books for children and parents raising children in a Humanist family. For more information, contact Tamara, Mindy and Barry at families at njhn.org.

September 21, 2008: We'll meet at 12:00 noon at picnic tables near the old nature center buildings (from the parking lot, cross the grass and a small road as you walk towards the old nature center buildings). Bring a picnic for your family to eat at the tables. At 1:00 p.m. we'll go for a walk to collect natural treasures. We'll return to the center grassy area for an activity and conversation.
The weather should be great for an outdoor picnic, hike and activity. We look forward to seeing fellow humanist families this weekend!
UPDATE: Sunday, September 21, is "International Day of Peace" www.internationaldayofpeace.org
Let's talk about what this means while we have our picnic lunch. You may want to bring in some ideas on how to bring about more peaceful families and communities, and how we can contribute toward making a more peaceful world.
After lunch, we'll go on with our other scheduled activities.
